# Mappit

> Mappit (https://mappit.ai) is the world's zeitgeist on a map. An AI news engine sweeps 700+ cities every few hours and pins what's happening onto an interactive, time-aware map. Every place has a story.

Mappit's corpus is a living, sourced, dated record of local news and world events — geolocated to the city it's about and corroborated across multiple independent AI vendors (Claude, Gemini, Grok, OpenAI). Stories are append-only and immutable, so the map is a time machine: any past day can be replayed. A daily "this day in history" pulse adds historical events anchored to the places they happened.

The public entity pages below each serve crawlable metadata, schema.org JSON-LD, and a `<noscript>` summary for non-JS clients.

# Mappit User Guide

Mappit (https://mappit.ai) is the world's zeitgeist on a map. Every few hours our AI feed engine sweeps hundreds of cities — using a fleet of web-search AI models (Claude, Gemini, Grok, OpenAI, and Kimi) plus Reddit's local communities — and pins what's happening onto an interactive map. You can browse for free, subscribe to places and people, and (with Mappit Plus) plant your own pins.

## How Mappit works

Behind the map is a fleet of AI agents that never sleep. Every few hours they sweep hundreds of cities worldwide — reading global and local news the way you would — and **pin each story to the place it's actually about**. The result is a living picture of what's happening on Earth *right now*: a glowing marker for every place with fresh news, sized by how much is going on and colored by its leading topic.

Four ideas make it more than a map of headlines:

- **It groups the news into storylines.** The **Threads** feed gathers related stories into trending events — "War in Iran", "Heat Waves" — so you can follow a story as it develops instead of scrolling past the same event ten times.
- **It's a time machine.** Mappit's corpus is append-only — nothing is ever thrown away — so the date filter can redraw the map as it looked on any past day. Scrub back to watch a story, a region, or a conflict unfold over time.
- **You can just ask.** Marco, Mappit's built-in AI guide, has read the entire map — every story, pin, location, and Thread. Ask a plain-language question ("what's happening in Lisbon?", "what's the latest on the Iran war?") and he answers with citations you can click to fly the map there.
- **It layers the real world on top.** Beyond the news, toggle live earthquakes, wildfires, air quality and weather, stock tickers plotted at company headquarters, a mood heatmap, and "on this day in history" plaques.

And it's a *map*, properly: six basemaps to choose from (streets, night, satellite, hybrid, terrain, minimal), real elevation you can stand up in 3D, an optional globe, and a camera that arrives somewhere rather than teleporting — all of which you can turn down or off if you'd rather it held still.

Browsing all of this is free. A **Mappit Plus** subscription ($2/month) adds creation — your own pins, collections, routes, and dataset layers.

## Why Mappit — the benefits

## Getting started

### Browsing the map

The map is the home page. Each glowing marker is a **location** with fresh stories; the number badge shows how many stories are live there. Hover a marker for a popover with the top stories; click it to open the **detail panel** on the right with the full location card — stories grouped by category, community posts, ratings, and a Subscribe button. Zoom out and nearby markers cluster together; the busiest places stay visible longest. On your first visit the map asks to use your location and centers there; if you decline, it opens on the United States.

On desktop, map popups now open after a **brief hover** — so a quick sweep of the mouse across the map won't flicker them open and shut — and pressing **Esc** closes an open popup.

At neighborhood zoom, pins start showing their **titles** beside the teardrop, so you can read what's around you without clicking. When labels would collide, some titles drop out — the pins themselves never do.

Selecting a pin or a location doesn't just jump the camera any more: the map **arrives tilted**, with a slow drift, so you land somewhere rather than being teleported. If your device asks for reduced motion, you get the instant flat jump instead — Mappit honors that setting throughout the map.

### Choosing how the map looks

The **map-style button** — on the left-hand control stack on desktop, on the right-hand stack on a phone — opens the basemap picker. Six ways to see the world:

- **Streets** — the warm daylight map. The everyday view.
- **Dusk** — the luminous night mode.
- **Satellite** — real aerial imagery.
- **Hybrid** — that imagery with Mappit's labels floated on top, so you can actually read it.
- **Terrain** — relief brought forward, with optional topographic contour lines.
- **Minimal** — grayscale "data ink": the basemap gets out of the way so pins, heat, and routes carry the picture.

By default the style follows the app's light/dark theme (Streets by day, Dusk by night). Pick one and it **pins** — the map stays that way on this device until you change it.

Two more buttons sit with it in the same stack:

- **3D terrain** (the mountain) — real elevation. Tilt the map (right-drag on desktop, two-finger drag on a phone) and mountains stand up. Buildings rise too, once you're zoomed into a street.
- **Globe view** (the globe) — swaps the flat map for the actual planet. Best zoomed out. It's a view you *choose*, not the default, because half a globe is always facing away from you. Click again for the flat map; your position is kept either way.

If your device is older or the graphics are modest, Mappit quietly leaves the heaviest of these off rather than making the map stutter.

### Share this view

The **camera button** — last in the same control stack — saves a picture of exactly what you're looking at: your camera angle, your layers, your pins, with the Mappit wordmark and map credits composited in. On a phone it opens the share sheet, so it goes straight to a message or a post; on desktop it downloads.

### The date filter

The date range control at the top is a time machine. Pick any range and the map redraws as it looked then: stories, event pins, and activity from that window only. Mappit's corpus is append-only — nothing is ever thrown away — so you can scrub back to any day since a location joined the map.

**And it plays.** The **Rewind button** (the little history clock in the map's control stack) replays the map **day by day** — news, pins, mood heat, and stocks all stepping together like frames of a film. It plays whatever range your date filter is set to, or the last 30 days if you haven't set one. While it runs, a chip at the bottom shows the current day and progress with pause and stop; Esc stops too, and stopping puts your date filter back exactly as you had it. Watch a hurricane cross the map, an election build, or your city's month go by in half a minute.

### Searching

The search bar accepts topics, keywords, and place names. Use the dropdown for quick suggestions, or expand to the full-screen map overlay to search visually. Results include locations, stories, pins, posts, and collections. Category chips filter by the Mappit ontology (News & Politics, Food & Drink, Events & Nightlife, and more).

You can also **search by date**. Type a date, a range, or a whole month right in the query — "manila 7/1/2026 to 7/14/2026", "protests 2026-07" — and Mappit narrows to stories from that window, then matches your other words within it.

And you can **search street addresses**. Type one ("742 Evergreen Terrace, Springfield") and matches preview right in the suggestions as you pause — or press Enter / tap the Search key and pick from the full results (there's always a *"Search … as a street address"* option for anything the detector missed). Pick a match and the map flies there, dropping a marker with one-click actions: create a pin, get directions, or copy the address. You can also **right-click anywhere on the map** (long-press on mobile) to ask *what's here* — Mappit looks up the nearest address on the spot. Address lookups have a small daily allowance (higher for signed-in and Plus users).

## Accounts and roles

### Registering

Registration is free with email + password (a 6-digit code verifies your address) or one click with Google. Free registered users can post and reply on public pins, add likes/dislikes/ratings/comments, subscribe to up to 3 location feeds, follow other users, and chat with Marco (10 messages/day).

### Mappit Plus

Mappit Plus ($2/month) unlocks creation: drop your own pins on the map, organize them into collections, import datasets as map layers, draw measurement overlays, subscribe to up to 20 location feeds, get 200 Marco messages/day, and browse ad-free. Your public pins become discoverable in search by topic and keyword.

### Roles

Anonymous visitors can browse and search. Registered users add social actions. Moderators handle reported content. Curators can feature exceptional content — their pins are visible to everyone. Administrators run the site. Curator and Administrator accounts include **all Mappit Plus features** automatically, no subscription required.

## Pins

### Creating a pin (Plus)

Click the **Plant pin** button on the map (below Directions, top-left), then click the spot you want — the pin editor opens with the coordinates filled in. You can also use Pins ▸ New and enter coordinates by hand — or neither: type an address in the editor's Address field and hit **Find**, and the coordinates fill themselves (or **From map** to go the other way — the address fills from the planted spot). Pins have a kind — Place, Event, Service, Alert, Guide, Meetup, User, or Address — a markdown description, links, a cover image, a **photo gallery** (paste screenshots straight into the editor with Ctrl/⌘+V, or upload; galleries show as a swipeable carousel on the pin), **audio/video attachments** (YouTube, SoundCloud, Spotify, Apple Podcasts render as inline players), and optional services, fees, and contact info. Pins start Private; publish them Public or share to a Workgroup — the visibility selector and a copy-link **Share** button sit at the top of every pin's panel. Your daily pin allowance depends on your plan (Plus 10, Pro 40, Max 100).

### Your user pin — put yourself on the map (free)

The **User** pin is different: it marks *you*. Every registered account — no subscription needed — gets exactly **one** user pin. The fastest way to drop it: hit **Find me** on the map and Mappit plants (or moves) your pin right where you are. Like every pin it starts **private** — publish it when you want to be findable, and moving it never changes its visibility. Once public, share its link and the preview card features your profile picture pinned to the place, and Marco can answer "where is @somename?" Keep an eye on **Marco's own pin**: our curators move him somewhere new and interesting every day.

**Follow Me.** Tap **Follow me** on the map and Mappit locates you, moves your pin, and opens its panel so you can pick how you're tracked. While Mappit is open your pin follows your live position; the map keeps you centered until you pan or zoom to look around, and a **Recenter** button (next to Marco) snaps back to you whenever you want. Choose your cadence in the panel:

- **By time** — your pin updates every 1, 5, 15, or 60 minutes, whenever you've actually moved. Best for a long drive.
- **Walking / Biking (by distance)** — drops a breadcrumb every **10, 20, or 40 metres** for a detailed trail. Phone GPS is good to about 10 metres, so "every 10 m" is the finest, most faithful track of a walk or ride.

With **route tracking** on (Plus), each breadcrumb becomes a small **Route** dot collected into an auto-created route collection — and the *entire route costs just one pin* from your daily allowance. Open that collection later and hit Compute route to turn your outing into a drawn, shareable path. A "Following — keep Mappit open" banner reminds you the screen needs to stay awake; tap its **✕** to tuck it away (Follow Me keeps running).

**Follow Me is a chase cam now.** While it's tracking you, the camera rides tilted and gently turns to face the direction you're moving — a walk or a drive reads like a chase shot, not a dot on graph paper. Your pin glides between GPS fixes instead of jumping, and your breadcrumb trail glows — brightest at your most recent step, fading toward where you started. Everything you already know still holds: drag or zoom and the camera is yours, **Recenter** hands it back, and when you stop following, the view settles flat. If your device asks for reduced motion, Follow Me stays the classic instant-jump view.

### Moving a pin

Drag it. Any pin you own can be picked up and dropped somewhere new — press and hold on mobile, then drag. An **Undo** toast appears for ten seconds after every move, so an accidental grab is one tap from repaired.

### Event pins

Event pins carry a date range, venue, ticket link, and price. While an event is active it pulses on the map, and it appears in the Home ▸ Events tab for anyone whose date filter covers it. Past events remain in the historical record.

### Who sees my public pins?

Public pins are always discoverable in search, on your profile, and in your public collections, and **anyone with the link can open a public pin** — share it on Facebook or anywhere and the general public can view it, no account needed. On the **map**, your public pins surface for people who follow you (and your workgroup members for workgroup pins). Curator and Administrator pins surface for everyone — that's the editorial layer. And sharing works as an invitation: when someone opens a link to one of your public pins, your user pin, **or your profile**, the map shows **your other public pins** for the rest of their session — a shared link becomes a doorway to your whole public map.

### Address pins

An **Address** pin saves a street address as a place — plant one on the map and the address fills itself, or type the address and let it place the pin. It's the building block for routes: collect address pins (a client list, a garage-sale circuit, your holiday-lights tour) and turn them into a drive.

### Collections

Collections group pins into shareable sets ("Best taco trucks of Austin"). Each public collection has its own page you can link anywhere, and renders as a toggleable map layer for your followers.

**Collections can drive.** On your collection's page, hit **Compute route** and Mappit plans the drive through every pin in order — total distance and time, viewable on the map as a route line. **Optimize order** finds the best visiting sequence (your first and last stops stay put). The route is saved with the collection, so everyone you share it with sees the drive, not just the list.

**And collections can fly.** View a route on the map and a **▶ Fly this route** button appears at the bottom: the camera swoops to the start and rides the whole route low and tilted, the line drawing itself just ahead of you — your taco tour or road trip as a flyover. Switch speed (1×/2×/4×) mid-flight; Esc, the Stop button, or simply grabbing the map ends it. Try it over the Satellite or Terrain basemap. (Reduced-motion devices get an instant framing of the route instead.)

## Trending: Global, Latest, Here & For You

The story carousel at the top of the map is the **trending strip** — the fastest way to see what's happening. Its header has a scope selector; click a tab to switch what "trending" means:

- **Global** (the default) — the hottest stories worldwide right now, ranked across every place Mappit tracks. This is where breaking world events lead, and where **Featured** stories (hand-picked by our curators, marked with a badge) are pinned to the front.
- **Latest** — the newest-crawled headlines worldwide in chronological order, most recent first. This one skips the trending weighting entirely and just shows what *just came in* — use it to watch the feed fill up in real time.
- **Here** — trends only the part of the world you're currently looking at. Pan or zoom the map and the strip re-ranks to follow your viewport — zoom into Texas and you get Texas trending; zoom out to a continent and it widens with you. Use it to answer "what's going on *around here*?"
- **For You** — the top stories from the locations you've subscribed to, freshest first. This tab appears once you have at least one subscription; until then the selector shows Global, Latest, and Here only.

Every card shows the story's source, publish time, mood dot, and its place — click the place name to fly the map there, or the headline to read the original article. Many cards also show a **preview image** pulled from the article itself; on phones the image is hidden to keep the strip compact. Trending always leads with the freshest news: breaking events surface immediately and rankings favor recent publication, so the strip you see in the morning is about *today*.

## Threads

The map answers *where* the news is; the Newsfeed answers *what just happened*. **Threads** answers *what's the ongoing story* — it groups related stories into trending **storylines** you can follow as they develop. Instead of scrolling past ten separate headlines about the same event, you get one Thread — **"War in Iran"**, **"Heat Waves"**, **"France and Spain Wildfires"** — that gathers them all.

Open **Threads** from the left nav (just under Home). Each card shows a short **title**, a one-line summary, a **photo montage** of pictures from the stories inside it, how many stories it covers, its main topic and its location. Tap a Thread to open the full storyline — every story in it, newest first — and see how the event unfolded.

Threads build themselves: as new stories arrive, Mappit works out which ongoing event each one belongs to and adds it to the right Thread (or starts a new one when something genuinely new happens), so a story that runs for days stays a single, growing Thread rather than scattering into dozens of separate cards.

A few things you can do with a Thread:

- **See its geography** — hit **View on map** and the map draws glowing arcs from the storyline's home city out to every other city its stories touch. A wildfire thread spanning France and Spain, or a conflict thread reaching four capitals, becomes a shape you can read in one look.
- **Search a storyline by name** — type *"War in Iran"* into search and jump straight to the Thread.
- **Ask Marco** — *"what's the latest on the Iran war?"* and he answers from the Thread and links you to it.
- **Filter by date** — the same All time / 24h / 7 days / 30 days / custom-range control the Newsfeed has.
- **Share one** — a shared Thread link previews on social media as a news card with its photo montage.

## Newsfeed

Sometimes you just want to *read the news*, not navigate it. The **Newsfeed** — a page in the left nav (under Threads) — is an endless, newest-first river of every story on the map. Open it and the freshest story sits at the top; scroll and older stories load automatically, flowing into columns as you go, all the way back to the "birthday" stories (the very first batch we pinned at launch) — then it ends. A **date filter** at the top narrows it to any window you like (last 24 hours, a week, a month, or a custom range).

Cards show a **picture** whenever the article has one, so the feed reads like a magazine. Each card still carries its place: click a story's **location** to jump straight to it on the map and pick up browsing from there. It's the fastest way to catch up chronologically instead of place by place — a plain, keep-scrolling read of everything that's happening.

## Feeds and subscriptions

### Location feeds

Subscribe to any location and its top stories fill your **For You** carousel at the top of the home page. Subscribed locations are always included in the next feed sweep, so your places stay freshest. Subscription caps by plan: Free 3, Plus 20, Pro 50, Max 100.

**Fresh on arrival.** When you open the map at your location, or sign in with subscriptions, Mappit checks whether those places were already crawled today — and if not, it fetches fresh news for them right then. A brief *"Fetching the freshest news…"* note appears above the carousel while it works (usually well under a minute), and the new stories drop in as soon as it finishes.

**How stories are gathered.** Every few hours Mappit sweeps cities across several AI providers, so no single model shapes the feed. Story timestamps now reflect when a story *entered Mappit's feed* (its crawl time), which is why the Latest tab reads as a clean, most-recent-first stream. And because AI can occasionally invent a link, every story's URL is validated on the way in — dead links are quietly dropped, so what you click through to is real.

### The Daily Digest

Opt in to the **Daily subscription digest** on your Profile page and every morning Mappit emails you the **Daily Digest** — a short editorial brief of the day's biggest stories on the map, written fresh each day, plus the latest headlines from your subscribed places. Every issue links back to the live map, and one click of the Unsubscribe link in any issue turns it off. Marco reads the digest too, so you can always ask him "what's trending today?"

### Following people

Follow a user and their public pins, events, and overlays appear on your map as a "Following" layer and in your For You feed. Organize follows into named groups and toggle each group as its own layer.

## Map tools

### Dataset layers (Plus)

Tools ▸ Import Dataset accepts a CSV with latitude/longitude columns (or an address column we geocode). Each row becomes a record-pin on its own toggleable layer; clicking one shows the record's fields as a card. Layers can be private or public.

### Draw & measure (Plus)

The draw tools add polygons, lines, and circles to the map. Mappit computes distances and areas instantly, and you can name, color, and annotate shapes, or group pins inside a shape into a named cluster.

### Directions

Set either end however you like — **type a street address** and pick from the matches, click the map, or hit **Directions to** on any pin, location, or address result — and Mappit draws the driving route with distance, time, and turn-by-turn steps. Once the route is drawn, **▶ Fly this route** appears — the same camera flyover collections get, riding your directions from A to B.

### History overlay

The **Today in History** layer (on by default) drops bronze year-plaques over the cities where history happened on today's calendar date — battles, treaties, discoveries, births and deaths of era-defining figures — gathered daily by AI from multiple sources and corroborated across them. Rewind the date filter and the anniversaries follow, and you can toggle it off under Layers. Search also understands dates: try "7/14/2026 jakarta".

### Stocks & ticker

Layers ▸ **Stocks** plots the day's quotes at each company's HQ city, and **Ticker tape** runs a crawl along the bottom. Coverage starts with the S&P 500 and now spans multiple exchanges — including the **London Stock Exchange** (FTSE) — each on its own trading calendar, so companies light up green and red at their real headquarters worldwide. Hover (or tap) to pause the tape; click a symbol while paused to fly the map to that company's headquarters.

### Live feeds

Under Layers ▸ **Live feeds**, toggle real-time views of the planet, refreshed automatically:

- **Earthquakes** — recent quakes from USGS; bigger circles are stronger, and color shows depth.
- **Wildfires** — active fire hotspots detected by NASA satellites.
- **Air quality** — current US AQI at major cities, green (good) through maroon (hazardous).
- **Weather** — current temperature and conditions, cool blue to warm red.

Hover or tap any point for the details (magnitude, AQI, temperature, and so on). These layers show the world as it is right now, alongside the news.

**They move, too.** Earthquakes pulse at a rate matched to their magnitude — a M6 visibly outpaces a M2, so you can read severity across a region without checking a single number. Wildfires shimmer, air-quality points sit in a soft haze, and weather points grow a condition glyph (sun, cloud, rain, snow) once you're zoomed into a city. Reduced-motion devices get all of it held still.

### Sentiment heatmap

Layers ▸ **Sentiment heatmap** paints each place's mood as a soft bloom of color — red where the news is tense, green where it's upbeat — sized by how much is happening there. Turn it on to read the emotional temperature of a whole region at a glance.

The chips under it switch the heat between two questions:

- **Mood** — how the news *feels*, tense to upbeat. The default.
- **Activity** — where the world is *loud*: the same bloom, weighted by sheer volume of stories and discussion rather than sentiment. Use it to find where things are happening at all, regardless of tone.

### Media streams

Layers ▸ **Media streams** pins live news **radio and TV** right on the map — turn it on and news broadcasts appear where they're based. The layer is **off by default**, and it has two sub-toggles, **Video** and **Radio**, so you can show just one or both. (Radio is drawn from public internet-radio directories; TV from public 24/7 news livestreams.)

Click a media pin and press **Play**. A player opens in the **bottom-right corner** and — this is the good part — it **keeps playing as you roam the whole site**: pan the map, open pins, read the Newsfeed, chat with Marco, the sound (or video) follows you.

- **Radio** plays with a live **frequency analyzer** dancing along to the audio; hide it any time with its ✕ if you'd rather just listen.
- **TV** plays a live video embed right in the player.

Two buttons ride along with the player: the **✕** closes it, and the **pin button** flies the map back to the source's spot. 

**Plant your own (Plus).** Media pins are Marco's and are public, but Plus members can add their own: **Plant a pin**, choose the kind **Media stream**, paste a **stream URL**, and pick **Radio** or **Video**. It drops onto the map like any media pin, ready to play.

### Sharing

Copy any Mappit link — a location, pin, collection, profile, or post — and it unfurls with a rich preview card (title, stats, image) in chat apps and social media. A pin with a photo gallery composites up to four of its images into the card. Only Public content gets a preview; private pins share as a generic card.

## Marco

Marco is Mappit's resident guide — a chatbot that has read everything on the map: every story, public pin, and location digest, past and present. Ask "what's happening in Lisbon?", "what happened here in March?", or "find me hiking groups near Denver". Marco reads the Daily Digest too, so "what's trending today?" gets the same brief subscribers wake up to — and he knows where every user pin is, including his own (ask "where's Marco?"). You can pin a question to a date or range — "what happened in Cairo on 7/4/2026?" — and Marco scopes its answer to that window. Marco cites its sources; click a citation to fly the map there. ### Posts

Every public pin and location has a post thread rendered in the carousel below the map. Posts support markdown, @-mentions, image and media attachments, and nested replies. The fastest way in: hit **Post here** on any location's panel (or **Post** in its map popover) and the composer opens with that place already targeted.

### Your public profile

Your profile page at `/u/yourname` is built to be shared. Customize it from Profile ▸ **Public profile**: upload a profile picture and a wide **cover image** (with a position slider to frame it right), add links to your website, X/Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, and LinkedIn, and choose whether your full name, company, and country appear. Visitors see your bio, your public pins and collections, and your recent posts — and while they browse, your public pins surface on their map.

### Forums, messages, workgroups

The Forums section hosts long-form Q&A. Private messages work like email with attachments — on desktop you can reach them straight from the **mail icon in the top bar** (it shows an unread count) or from **Messages** in the left nav, as well as from the account menu. Workgroups are private circles — share pins, collections, and overlays to a workgroup and only members see them.

### Moderation

Use the Report button on any content that breaks the rules. Moderators review reports; thread owners can hide replies on their own pins.

## On your phone

Mappit adapts to phones with a map-first layout: a slim top bar, a slide-out drawer for navigation, in-place search, a full-bleed map with one compact control row, trending behind a flame toggle, and the location panel plus its conversation unified into a single bottom sheet you can swipe. The map controls — Directions, Plant pin, Layers, and the zoom and draw tools — are stacked at the **bottom-left**, clear of the trending strip; the Marco button sits at the bottom-right, with the map-style, globe, 3D-terrain and share buttons stacked above it on the **bottom-right**. Two-finger drag tilts the map when 3D terrain is on. Open a pin and you get a bottom sheet — **drag the grab-handle down to dismiss it**, or tap the ✕.

**Creating on mobile.** Planting a pin and writing a post both work on a phone. Tap **Plant pin** and then the map (or use Pins ▸ New), and a full-height composer slides up from the bottom — drag the handle down to dismiss. It covers everything you need: kind and category, title, a markdown body with an Edit/Preview toggle, coordinates, **photos straight from your camera or gallery**, audio/video links, the extra place details (address, contact, services, fees, website), event fields, and a Private/Public/Workgroup visibility switch. Posts get the same sheet with a pin/location target picker.

**What's different from the desktop editor.** The mobile composer is deliberately streamlined:

- Photos are added from your **camera or photo library** rather than pasted or entered as URLs — there's no clipboard-paste or image-URL field on mobile.
- A pin's single legacy "cover image" (set on desktop) is kept when you edit on mobile but isn't editable there; the swipeable **photo gallery** is the way you add images on a phone.
- Everything else — visibility, publishing, event details, media embeds, drafts saved only on Save — behaves exactly like desktop.

For the fullest editing experience (paste-a-screenshot, image-by-URL, side-by-side fields) use Mappit on a laptop or desktop; for capturing a place in the moment, the phone composer is built for it.

## Billing

Three plans, all handled by Stripe: **Mappit Plus** ($2/month or $20/year — 10 pins/day, 20 location feeds), **Mappit Pro** ($5/month or $50/year — 40 pins/day, 50 feeds), and **Mappit Max** ($10/month or $100/year — 100 pins/day, 100 feeds, built for tracking daily routes, geopolitical events, disasters, and conflict zones). Subscriptions are billed by Correlation Studio LLC; every payment emails you a numbered invoice with a PDF copy, and your invoices are always available under Profile ▸ Subscription. Manage or cancel anytime; access runs to the end of the paid period.

**If your subscription lapses, your pins are never deleted.** Your ten most recent pins stay live; older pins are shelved out of view and come back exactly where they were the moment you resubscribe.

## Privacy & data

Public content is public — stories, public pins, and posts may appear in search engines and our open-data layer. Private pins, private collections, and workgroup content are never shared. See the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service pages for the full picture.
